what are some older anime series or movies you'd like to see on blu ray?

for me the number one candidate would be Cowboy Bebop, I've been meaning to re watch Bebop from the beginning for a really long time, I probably haven't seen the entire series since 2002 or 2003 and being released in HD would give me the perfect chance

if that Keanu Reeves Bebop movie is ever made I'm sure we'll see it on blu then, if not sooner

also, every Satoshi Kon and Ghibli movie ever

Interstella 5555, Macross: Do You Remember Love?, Mind Game and maybe some high def brain exploding Fist of the North Star would be sweet.

I agree with Shenazin, except for Cowboy Bebop, Paranoia Agent and Millennium Actress because I just bought those on DVD yesterday. :L

Cowboy Bebop definitely. Having watched Samurai Champloo on blu ray, I can say that Bebop would probably end up looking just as great if not even better in some aspects.

Gurren Lagann, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex, and Porco Rosso would also be wonderful candidates. Kind of a shame, since Porco Rosso is generally Miyazaki's most unpopular film (amongst the uninformed masses) so I doubt we'll ever see an HD release.

Didn't Funimation say they were releasing FLCL on blu ray last year for late 2010 or early 2011?

Could I also use this thread for shows I'd just like to see licensed in general, or do we already have a thread for that.

If not, man I would so buy the first season of Nodame Cantabile first-day.

Say, quick question: does anyone know if a Youjouhan Shinwa Taikei/Tatami Galaxy Bluray (or even a DVD boxset) has been announced for release? I can't find it on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk says it exists but is not in stock, and I can't access Funimation's website since I don't live in the US. Have I been too quick to assume that Funimation is going to release all their simulcast shows on disc?

If it's not on Blu-ray, then there's my answer to this thread.

Doesn't look like it. I definitely wouldn't assume that they're gonna put everything to disk. I would imagine there's different costs for buying the license to syndicate online and the license to publish the dvd but don't hold me to it.

To be honest, I'd like to see Angel Beats on Blu-Ray. Whether it's imported or not, all I want are subtitles and I'll be fine, because with the current visuals of that anime, I'd be stunned to see what the Blu-Ray version has to deliver.

I would love to see both Cyborg 009 and Sailor Moon in Bluray remastered.

DieBuster and GunBuster, the original OVA's, not the movies.
with a little touch up on GunBuster's visuals, as it is 23 (holy crap i suddenly feel old) years old

To be honest, I'd just love to see bandai reprice the BRD movies to a reasonable price. Can't pay $90 or whatever for those discs.

quoted for epic great truth.

though I'd still prefer the originals in glorious HD, I'd take a price redcution for the movies.
